If your browser have Java Web Start simply click to here.

If this is not working, make sure you have the Java Web Start installed.

Open a command prompt (like xterm) and enter the command:

$ javaws

If you are lucky you will see a window like this with loaded Web Start programs.

If the SmallBall Baseball is missing from the window, you can add baseball to the list with command:

$ javaws

This installation method works on windows machines too, but the Deluxe Trainer not functional properly with Web Start installation of SmallBall Baseball.

Pure manual commandline installation

Warning: Only if you are familiar with basic unix commands.

First thing first: make sure you have java installed:

$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_01-b08)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_01-b08, mixed mode, sharing)

The SmallBall can run from 1.1 Java till the latest, so if you found any, you'll be fine.

If no Java installed, consult with Sun download page to get Java Runtime on your machine.

The SmallBall start program will build the installation in the current working directory.

It is nice to make a folder in your home directory for SmallBall like this:

    $ cd
    $ mkdir smallball
    $ cd smallball

You need the loader/starter program the start.jar.

If you are lucky, and have wget installed, enter:

$ wget --glob=off

If not simple save the this link to get start.jar.

One way or the other you have the start.jar there.

This is the boot loader, you have to start it to perform the installation.

$ java -jar start.jar

If the program starts ok, it continues download.

After download finished, a registration wizard displays, if this is a new install.
